Saarang’26 Concludes with Grandeur and Distinction

Annual Inter-College Cultural Fest | 18–19 February 2026

Mata Sundri College for Women (University of Delhi) proudly organized its Inter-College Annual Cultural Fest, Saarang’26, on 18 and 19 February 2026 under the theme “Reflections: Roots and Rhythms.” Conceived as a vibrant platform for celebrating culture, creativity, and community engagement, the fest aimed to nurture artistic excellence, intellectual dialogue, and holistic student development while strengthening inter-college collaboration across Delhi NCR. The two-day festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from 736 students representing more than 35 colleges across Delhi-NCR, transforming the campus into a dynamic hub of creativity and collaboration.

The Inaugural Ceremony was held on 18 February 2026 at 10:30 A.M. in Mata Gujri Hall and was graciously presided over by Prof. Amita Dev, Former Vice Chancellor, IGDTUW (Delhi), as the Distinguished Guest. The ceremony commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and invocation, and Principal Prof. Harpreet Kaur addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of cultural values and youth engagement in shaping an inclusive and progressive society. The organizing committee was led by Convener Dr. Sheelam Bharti, with Co-Conveners Prof. Rashmi Verma, Dr. Harinder M. Sandhu, and Prof. Pooja Wadhawan, whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth execution of the fest.

A total of 17 competitions were organized across diverse domains including Stage Play, Debate (Awaaz-e-Saarang), Classical and Folk Music, Indian and Western Dance, Sanskrit competitions, Code-a-thon (Coding), Quiz (Brain Teaser), Poetry (Kavita Pratiyogita), Ad-O-Mania, Rangoli & Mehndi, and Nukkad Natak. These events provided students with opportunities to demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and technical competence.

The fest received valuable sponsorship support from Defrel & Technologies; Archer & Angel Consulting Pvt. Ltd.; Punjab & Sind Bank; Frankfinn; Maruti Suzuki; Ms. Kirti V. Bakshi; OM Bikaner; Beyond Snacks; and Foodholic. Their contributions played a significant role in the successful execution of the event.
Saarang’26 also received extensive media partnership and coverage support from Chardikla Time TV, Punjabi Tribune (E-paper), Ajit Samachar, Rozana Spokesman, Punjabi Jagran, State Samachar, The Indian Awaaz (theindianawaaz.com), DU Times, DU Fest, DU Beat, DU Buddies, and DU Hub, whose platforms significantly amplified the reach and impact of the festival.

The Grand Finale was held on 19 February 2026 at 2:15 P.M. at the Sports Ground and featured a live performance by renowned Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann. The concluding ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including S. Jagdip Singh Kahlon (General Secretary, DSGMC), S. Kulbir Singh, S. Rawail Singh, S. Rajinder Singh, Shri Rajiv Garg, and Dr. Maninder Kaur. Their gracious presence added prestige and institutional significance to the celebration.

Saarang’26 successfully reinforced the institution’s commitment to holistic education, experiential learning, and the cultivation of socially responsible and culturally aware citizens.
