Strengthening Industrial and Professional Engagement between India and South Korea

Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, successfully organized an International Seminar on “India and South Korea (Republic of Korea): Strengthening Industrial and Professional Engagement for Global Competitiveness” on 13 March 2026 at the Annexe, India International Centre.

The seminar aimed to foster dialogue on the growing partnership between India and the Republic of Korea, focusing on opportunities for enhanced collaboration in industry, education, trade, and professional exchange. The event brought together distinguished diplomats, policymakers, economists, and academic leaders to discuss the evolving dynamics of India–Korea relations and their significance for global competitiveness.

The seminar was chaired by Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Padma Shri awardee. The Chief Guest, His Excellency Lee Seong‑Ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, highlighted the expanding economic and cultural partnership between the two countries and emphasized the importance of academic and industrial cooperation.

The event also featured the presence of S. Jagdip Singh, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea (Chandigarh), along with eminent guests including C. Rajasekhar, former Ambassador to Korea; Sidharth Rajhans, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs; Prof. Sumita Rai, Dean of Industry Connect (MDI–Hyundai Program); Prof. Charan Singh, Chief Executive Officer of EGROW Foundation and former IMF Senior Economist; and Prof. Anju Vali Tikoo, Member of the Governing Body of the college and Head & Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

Under the leadership of Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Principal and Chief Patron, the seminar provided a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange, encouraging dialogue on strengthening industrial partnerships, professional engagement, and academic collaboration between India and South Korea. The discussions reaffirmed the importance of such international academic initiatives in promoting global understanding and cooperative development.
